About Debar

We are a British manufacturing company that designs, develops and manufactures bifolding door hardware.

The founder Graham Fawthrop has over 20  years’ experience with external bi folding doors, having been involved with the moveable glass wall specialist Solarlux GMBH for many years.  He was also joint owner of Solarlux Systems Ltd until 2004.

Graham was then involved with a major  aluminium bifolding door systems company producing an alternative bi folding door system.

In 2009 DEBar started to design & develop its own bi fold hardware range which would fit numerous chamber systems coming onto the UK market.  After completion of the design and manufacturing process in April 2011 there followed 6 months of trials with bi folding door manufacturer “Express bi folding doors”.  Express owner “Steven Bromberg” is also co-owner of Debar.  Debar now supply in excess of 180 companies and currently export to 7 countries, including the USA.

The Team

Currently the team is 52 strong and growing rapidly, with plans for further expansion worldwide.  Our technical director Philip Sowden has years of experience designing window and door systems and this has enabled us to launch the DeWall bi-fold door systems.

We operate from 42,000 sq ft premises in the historic city of Bradford, Yorkshire, England, home of the famous “Brontë Sisters”. We also have premises of 35,000 sq ft in the USA.

We are continually investing in our premises and machinery to ensure we meet the demands of the future.

Our suppliers form an integral part of our team and in particular we work closely with BMTRADA to independently cycle, impact and weather test our systems in the UK.

Debar aim to offer our customers the best possible level of service, advice and guidance with all of our bi-folding door hardware products.
